ValueFind has created this privacy policy to demonstrate our firm commitment to privacy. Questions regarding this policy should be emailed to .

Pursuant to the ValueFind Buyer Account and General User Terms of Use, you must be 18 years and older to use this Web site. Therefore, this policy makes no provision for individuals under 18 years old.

What Information We Collect and How We Use It
For General Users

When you visit our Web site, ValueFind collects your IP address and browser type, which we use to help diagnose problems with our server, to administer our Web site, and to improve our services. We may also use this information to identify the Web site from which you came or to gather broad demographic information that does not personally identify you.

For Registered Users

ValueFind collects personal information when you register to use ValueFind as a buyer or seller. At registration you are asked for your full name, email address, and zip code if you are a buyer. If you would like to register as a seller, ValueFind asks for your business name, contact/billing information, phone number, email address, credit card information, categories of products you sell, and other optional information. Also, each registered user must create a unique username and password. This information is necessary for us to process your price alerts, favorites, product requests, offers, and orders and to occasionally notify you of important changes to the Web site, new ValueFind features, or special ValueFind offers you may find useful. We may also use this information to send you occasional, special offers from some of our partners. You may opt-out of receiving future mailings; simply email us at .

Your username (for buyers) or business name (for sellers) is displayed throughout the Web site (and, as such, visible to the public) and is connected to all of your ValueFind activity. Other users can view your purchase history, product offers, public profile information, accepted payment methods, feedback ratings and associated comments.

For Buyers

If you are a buyer and place an order using the "Ask for It" feature, we will provide to the seller your complete name, email address, billing and shipping address, telephone number, and payment information. This information is needed by the seller to process your order. If you submit a product request, the seller will be given your username, purchase history (total offers received, number accepted, and average price), and city, state, and zip code.

For Sellers

If you submit an offer in response to a buyer request, the buyer will be able to view your business name, public profile information, reviews, and accepted payment methods. The buyer will also be able to contact you. Your offer is only confidential to the extent that you and the buyer keep it confidential, as we cannot prevent a buyer from publicly posting its contents.

For Users of Social Networking Sites

We maintain accounts with social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter. If you choose to add us as a friend on Facebook or to follow us on Twitter, we may receive information about you including your name, email address, and any other information that you may provide on these sites. We may use this information to send you promotional materials and to communicate with you concerning our Web site. You may opt-out of receiving these mailings by emailing us at .

Our Security Measures

This Web site has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse, and alteration of the information under its control. When we transfer and receive certain types of sensitive information, such as credit card information, it is encrypted through industry-standard encryption technology known as Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) so that it cannot be read as it is transmitted across the Internet. Depending on your browser, this SSL will have encryption keys of up to 256 bits. All information you provide to us is protected against unauthorized access, both in-house and by third parties. Only parties responsible for processing your order have access to your credit card information.

Your username and password let ValueFind verify that you are a registered buyer or seller and prevent anyone else from submitting product requests, offers, or orders in your name or accessing your online account without your express permission. You should guard this password as carefully as you would your credit card number. If you forget your password, at your request we can email it to the email address you have listed in your account. You are solely responsible for maintaining the secrecy of your password and/or any account information.

ValueFind will not sell or disclose your personal information to third parties unless you have explicitly consented to the disclosure or the disclosure is necessary to comply with the law or with legal process or to process your credit card transaction. We use a secure, licensed system for credit card authorization and fraud detection.

ValueFind may provide aggregate statistics about our customers, sales, traffic patterns, and related Web site information to third parties, but these statistics will include no personally identifying information.

Links to Other Web Sites

ValueFind contains links to other sites or resources, operated by third parties. For example, when you click on a product "See It" link, you will be taken to a third party site that may collect information about you. These sites each have separate privacy and data collection practices, independent of ValueFind. ValueFind has no responsibility or liability for these independent policies or actions and is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such Web sites.

As a convenience, ValueFind utilizes small text files called "cookies" to save you time by storing login authentication information and other information you might otherwise have to enter over and over again. Cookies are pieces of information that a Web site transfers to your computer's hard drive for record-keeping purposes. For example, we use a cookie to store the zip code that you may be using to include customized shipping and tax information in your product prices. The use of cookies is an industry standard, and most major Web sites use them to provide useful features for their visitors. Most browsers are initially set to accept cookies. If you'd prefer, you can set yours to disable cookies altogether or to alert you when cookies are being sent. However, if you disable cookies you will not be able to log in to your account and send requests, place orders, etc. ValueFind does not use cookies to store any personal information. Cookies may also be used by our advertisers.
